Martin Lebon
As a subject matter expert in wine, beer and spirits I am your benevolent penman and storyteller.
Ideas mature in bottles…
Prolonged theoretical study and a basket of practical experience create a personal mixed grog of insight and inspiration. The wide word of alcoholic beverages, the history of Earth and the love of humanity for mind-altering experiences are my muse.
Doing that I consider 7 crucial competences
7 C’s:
1. Connect: a social, cross-cultural ability that let you think across borders and into societies
2. Create: innovative, intellectual curiosity following adagio “Never stop asking”
3. Collaborate: cooperate, participate and contribute
4. Communicate: ability to collect knowledge and meaning and catch it in language, symbols or text
5. Compute: technological and digital literacy
6. Think Critically: think along and judge
7. “Can do” mentality: self motivation and take initiative
As a child of the past century my submerging in the world of bits and bytes is of more recent days. App making or vlogging is not in my portfolio but writing and storytelling is in my bones.
Lebonvin talks about wine, beer, spirits and the good life but occasionally other “wisdom” can gain my attention.
If you can’t put your heart in it leave it
Why? A filosophy…
People tend to be afraid of what they don’t know or what they don’t understand.
Unknown makes unloved
It is my quest to explain and demystify alcoholic beverages with a view to let people enjoy a good glass of wine, a jug of beer or a punchy dram whilst discovering the land, the people and the science responsible for the making of all these sensuous liquids.
Inform, persuade and entertain. Three steps to joy.
Step 1: Information
In George Orwell’s novel, 1984, the Ministry of Truth promotes the slogan “Ignorance is strength”. We all understand the irony of this.
Where ignorance is bliss, ’tis folly to be wise.
I promote responsible and moderate use of alcoholic beverages.
